hey guys I need to change my fuel sending unit the one mine supposedly takes has 3 outlets. its expensive, for me anyways haha. but my question is what's that third outlet for? and I was thinking of getting a universal one cuz they're only like $20 from equus which I think will work because I have an equus fuel gauge

I haven't been able to find anything on a '78 caprice needing a 3 outlet fuel sending unit. is it possible you have a tank or sending unit out of a late '80's car with throttle body? Usually that third line is for a fuel return from the engine, but it's not common on cars with mechanical fuel pumps (though I have seen one. It was on a K-5 blazer)
