Hallo again , just few days ago i did order a  pushbumper
from this on line shop http://www.galls.com/setina-16-bodyguard-push-bumper?PMSRCH=pushbumper
It will take some time till the parcel will arrive  from the us to my garage   but
before it will be delivered i would like to know how exactly goes the installation under the original bumper and if some other parts like screws etc
will be needed ( i did not find any info what mounting hardware will be included)
may be somebody did this installation on a 79 caprice or similar and knows more.
    thanks

What did the company says when you called or emailed them? Not to sound rude I would have no bought them till my questions were answered. All bars are different.  My 77 has the factory little ones. I like them.

That page you posted a link to says. The 16"H x 5"D model weighs 35 lbs. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Couldn't be that hard?

When googling it seems they sit on the top part of bumper. I don't like that. Not a solid mounting point and can scratch your bumper.

I like this style looks more solid with the top cross member.

May be you are right , my friend did order it for me because
he has better connections to us on line shops etc.( he buys classic cars in the US and sales them on the old continent, so i really do not
know what to expect of course i don't want to scratch my original bumper
or drill a hole in it ( the bumper is in good condition ) so may be i must
find a good installation way on my own .As soon I get the delivery ,
i will tell you what was inside and if it was worth waiting for ( in the order
was given the make and year of the vehicle)
    thanks for reply

So your putting this on a 77? I though push bumpers were around since plastic bumpers? Any reason why?

Well , now days the modern cars have plastic bumpers and no  body on frame
construction (unibody), so police cars ( especially US) must have push bumper
to protect the front during police car chases, but also early days
(with real cars Laughing ) they did use it to protect lights or coolant.for me
it is more show , i like to make the front of the caprice more aggressive
especially  here in  Europe  are not many passenger cars with iron like that attached to the front. On the other way this part must also fit well
in to the front of the car so very likely i will have to modify it to look  better
in front of the chromed bumper ( may be a change in color or try to make
it chromed , i will know more when i have this peace in front of me .

I'm sure you'll be able to make it work even of you need a little modification to keep it off the top of the bumper. I could be wrong but the pics i see look to have the 4 bolts for mounting underneath the bumper. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Your 4 door will look great with this addition cruising around Poland. Keep up the good work and the pics coming.

I got myself a 16" Setina PB 100 myself. It came from a Crown Vic.
I have installed it momentarily by removing the bumper horns and mounting the bottom part of the Setina with the bolts for these. I have to attach it to the top of the bumper somehow.

I have a book on Chevy police cars and several of the pictures in it, shows that these bumpers where mounted with a horizontal brakcet pointing to the middle and sometimes also pointing toward the end of the real bumper. I have been thinking of taking off the rubber impact strip and then bend some pieces of thick steel to make them look like the original ones. Should make a pretty though install
