78 caprice build and extra parts Empty 78 caprice build and extra parts

Post  adamin Sun Jul 03, 2016 3:49 pm

I've been a member of this forum for about a year now and haven't really posted so I figured I might as well. I'm Alyssa, I'm a 27 year old in the philly area and I'm obsessed with my cars. When I was 16 my dad got offered a 79 impala as a parts car for his daily 78 caprice. I bought it for 200, helped him fix some things and I had my first car.

2 years later I bought my dads 78 and last year I found a garage kept 78 landau with 30,000 original miles. I'm currently in the process of making her my own and figuring out what exactly I want seeing as I now have a bone stock one to work with. Selfishly I've never thought about selling any of my extra parts (we all know they're hard to come by) but I now have duplicates of  spares (glass, trim, hood etc.) so I'm willing to let go of some. So if anyone is in need of specific parts let me know and I'll see what I have, I would prefer pickup (philly area) for big parts and glass. Also if anyone has done cool modifications to theirs, post it here! I'm not set on what I want to do so ideas would be cool, thanks for looking!

Good to hear from you again. Looks like you have been busy for a minute. That's the kind of lift you do those big jobs with, looks to be very handy

    indeed.

I take it the blue Caprice is the parts car?!?

Does it have decent doors? Are they electric or manual?

If you look them over and want to sell them let me know the particulars about them.

I could use a trunk as well.

    Thanks

Yes the blue caprice is the one I've been driving for the past 8 years. The doors are power and I'm keeping those ones and getting rid of the ones sitting on my shed from my 79 Impala, they were crank. I'm pretty sure I have two trunk lids and would get rid of my older one. I have lots of parts from my 79 Impala so I'm trying to have one extra of everything and get rid of anything I have two of.

So are you going to sell the two crank doors? If so, let me know how much.

Mine are rotted out on the bottom. Original Connecticut car.

Pending where your at when I go to Virginia this fall as to pick up.

Is the older trunk lid in good condition.

    Thanks
