PCV valve?

I got the car on the road w/700R4 adjusted.

Its leaking oil out the front seal. About 3 quarts in 100 miles.

I have one pcv(I think) on the right rear. And two plugs in the covers for oil.

My thoughts are the crank case pressure is blowing it out.

I think the older style valve cover vents are the way to go. I found a set. One is pcv, the other open vent.

After all this, and I found metal grindings in the oil filter. Low oil pressure.

MONEY PIT is about right.

What do you think. Runner till she blows......?

keep an eye on the oil psi an run it. its already hurt now. just depends on how much you want to spend on repairs. but i would plan on getting another engine built on a stand now so when it pops you just need to swap it out.

It ticks me off the issue of leaks.

no no problem man, i have been there myself. but start acquiring parts to make a 383 stroker or a 400sb. i always look at it as an opportunity to go bigger and or better. it just never happens at the opportune time.... but you let enough time pass and it all falls into place.

Like with me right now im currently about 2 hours away from going to Colorado to buy a 1980 g-body Malibu to make a street/grudge/track car even tho my impala is no were near done and need that money to put into the impala. but if i get this car for the price it will save me in the long run because i know im going to be building a racecar in the future no matter what so if the malibu sits for 1 or 2 years it dont bother me

I have been on another site in discussion of the leaks from not having a proper pcv in the valve covers. The number V372 is hollow, and a small hole for increased vacuum.

I ordered it and will see how that works out. In the mean time I'm changing oil over to 20-50w VR1. And using a Fram synthetic oil filter. Higher filtration.

Only time will tell.

best of luck buddy. i am going to be running 5-50w here soon or 0-50w VR1. next oil change take an oil sample an get it tested.
