Sorry I didn't see this before. I looked at Impala rears from the early 70s 72 to be specific and
it was a bit wider not much but the mounts were different too. It could be used though but I am
pretty sure a welder would be involved.

i put a 8.5 in my 78 2 door out of a 74 elcamino and it was a direct bolt in , i think it was like a 1 inch narrower is all
